Our Studio

Our studio at 210 St. James Street, is available for use by local students and professionals. Our studio is uniformly lit and has the largest green screen in Mid-Missouri.

Green screens are used in all forms of digital art in a process called chroma key compositing. This is a technique for compositing two images or frames together in which a color is removed and replaced by another image. A everyday example of this process is implemented in weather forecasting; where a meteorologist appears to be standing in front of a large map.

The biggest challenge when setting up a greenscreen is even lighting and the avoidance of shadow, because it is best to have as narrow a color range as possible being replaced. A shadow would present itself as a darker color to the camera and might not register for replacement.
